Additional Volunteer Opportunities
Other ways to be involved around Moon Township include the following:
Township Advisory Boards and Councils
Advisory boards and councils help the township better understand the needs and desires of residents, business owners and developers. Residents who serve on these committees are advocates for the people of Moon Township; each member brings with them their own experiences, advice and input which can be influential when township supervisors vote on ordinances and make policy decisions. Click here for more information.
Moon Community Access Television
Moon Community Access Television is a community-based network of public access, educational and governmental programming owned and operated by the Township of Moon. MCA-TV relies on volunteers to produce, edit and star in locally-produced programs and is always looking for new volunteers and program ideas. Visit MCA-TV to learn more.
Environmental Advisory Council
Moon Township’s Environmental Advisory Council works to improve and protect the quality of the environment throughout the township. The EAC participates in and holds several events throughout the year that help promote a community environmental program, including the township’s annual recycling day, quarterly electronics collections, road clean-ups and participation in Moon Parks and Recreation’s annual Earth Day event. To learn more about volunteering with the EAC, contact Lora Dombrowski at 412.262.1700 or ldombrowski@moontwp.us.
Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company
The Moon Township Volunteer Fire Company is always looking for new members to join them in serving and protecting the community. Interested residents are invited to learn more about becoming a volunteer firefighter by visiting one of the township’s fire stations on Mondays at 7 p.m. when the department conducts its weekly meeting.
